Model: WLI-U2-KG54-YB
Operating System: Windows 98 (Note: might work with other versions of this os.)
File: ClientMgr3-1.zip
Comments:
G54 WLI-Uw-KG54-YB USB Wi-Fi (Keychain).
The Wi-Fi unit is also being sold with a Yahoo!BB
Broadband logo on it and no driver or application
disk. The application download on the Buffalo
website only works if you get the correct driver
AND correct version of the Client Manager. This
zip was tested on win98 and winME only, but was
said to work also on win2K. Supposedly winXP
has native drivers and you can use the winXP
wireless application.
For successful installation on win98 and winME,
do NOT plug the USB key in yet. First run the
setup.exe file and install the ClientManager
software (second button).
When prompted, insert the wifi key. If the driver
is not automatically found, direct the hardware
manager to the U2KG54 folder, then to the
win98 or winME folder for installation.
The installation program will then ask you to
configure your setup. If you are using the
Buffalo AirStation Router, the automatic setup
should work. Otherwise, use the manual
configuration, scan, select your security method,
input the key and you should be set to go.
There will be at least one reboot during this
procedure, but internet will be found
automagically after completed installation and
restart.
Hope this saves you some of the time it took me
to get it up and going!
